Finding the right sculpture to paint is often dependent on a number of factors and St George.exe was no exception. Interestingly, there are a number of St George sculptures around the world so deciding upon the right one was a difficult decision. I settled on this sculpture in particular as a result of its dynamic composition which reminded me of one of my favourite art movements; Baroque. As this piece is among my series Classical.exe has Stopped Working, wherein classical sculptures merge with digital and contemporary means, I decided to paint St George and the Dragon in vivid magentas, ultramarine blues and cerulean blues. The series of blue and white sections featured behind the sculpture is reminiscent of the imagery often found with the Vaporwave Art movement.
